Midnight Madness
Carlisle School held Midnight Madness last night to kick off practice for the field hockey and soccer seasons. Alumni attended the event and played in the game. Here are a few photos from the night. The last photo was shot with my new favorite camera the Olympus E-P3. Parents can purchase the photos now on my website.

Baseball
I shot a baseball game this afternoon.
Baseball is all about conquering geometry, but actually having fun while doing it. Hitting a round object with another round object is the hardest thing to do in sports. For those who don’t already know it, I love baseball. Any sport where spitting is condoned, and also encouraged, is all right with me.

Goody’s Fast Relief 500
I shot the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 today for the Associated Press along with AP Photographer Steve Helber and Don Peterson. Here’s our photos from the day – AP Images. The last 10 images should be mine, but check the byline because the sort could get reordered. It was a great race.
Carlisle Basketball
I shot a couple of Carlisle School basketball games tonight. After sending a photo to the Martinsville Bulletin, I started listening to Queen and began pulling keepers. I kept listening and ended up processing all the photos.
I’ll put them on my website tomorrow. Oh wait, it’s already tomorrow. I’ll post them later today after I get some sleep. I shot the JV and Varsity games and have 280 photos to post between the two. Wow, seven hours of work including post processing. I hope some of them sell. Anyway, here’s a few.

Gotta Love Martinsville Speedway NASCAR Fans
The race was rained out today and will be held tomorrow at noon. Fans sat through the rain until the announcement was made.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell At Martinsville Speedway
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell visited Martinsville Speedway this morning for the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500.

Look Mom, No Viewfinder
OK, I lied. Here are two more photos. This time they are of me.
Tonight, Mattie and I went out to dinner with a couple of friends who are in town to cover the race. When I arrived home, there were two photos of me in my e-mail. The first one is of me shooting in turn two with my Olympus E-P1, taken my Mike Paris. The second photo, shot by Mike Wray, is of me (far right) holding my Olympus E-3 over my head while using live view to take a photo.
They sent them to me to put on the blog. I’ll have to thank Mike and Mike in the morning. Get it? Mike and Mike in the morning on ESPN Radio? I know, it’s a bad joke.
