Carlisle Players – Dress Rehearsal
The Carlisle Players will perform Cats this Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the Walker Auditorium in the Marshall Fine Arts building at Carlisle School. Mid Summer Night’s Dream – Dress Rehearsal
Tonight, I shot the first dress rehearsal for Mid Summer Night’s Dream that will be performed by the Carlisle Player’s on December 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Director Candace Owen-Williams described the play like this in a note to me, “A fun, festive and Bollywood-esque version of Shakespeare’s most zany comedy! Indian dance mixed with singing and monkey-business! True love certainly does not run smoothly for our four couples!” She’s right. I couldn’t help but laugh as I was trying to concentrate on shooting.
As I have been doing for the past couple of months, I took my Olympus E-P1 and 17mm lens with me. I haven’t loaded any other cards, but here are a few with the E-P1. The first couple of photos were from them getting ready.

Into The Woods Performance

The Carlisle Players held their final performance of Into The Woods tonight (actually last night since it’s 1 a.m.). They did an outstanding job with the play. As a Marine, the greatest compliment you can give is to say it was outstanding. In a Marine Corps fitness report, “outstanding” is the best it can get.
If you missed the play, it was great entertainment. Congratulations to Candace Owen-Williams, her entire staff, and the students. There were some outstanding individual performances. I will post photos from the performance and the dress rehearsals on Monday. Sunday is a day off and I’m taking my lovely wife to lunch and a movie.
Final Into The Woods Dress Rehearsal

The dress rehearsals are over now for the cast of Into The Woods and the performances will be held on Friday and Saturday night in the Marshall Fine Arts Building on the school’s campus. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
These are photos from the Thursday night dress rehearsal.
Into The Woods On Friday And Saturday

Don’t forget Friday and Saturday night’s performances of Into The Woods by the Carlisle Players in the Marshall Fine Arts Building on the school’s campus. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
These photos are from Thursday night’s dress rehearsal.
The Many Faces Of The White Cow

I never (I say never because I have never done it before) single out a student at Carlisle for a great performance, but you have to see Into the Woods this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Marshall Fine Arts Building if for no other reason than the cow is outstanding.
Catch your breath now because I know that was a long lead sentence. Breathe, breathe, breathe. Really, it’s okay.
The student who plays the cow in the Jack and the Beanstalk part of the play is amazing. She is a wonderful actress. She is in character at all times making different faces depending on what’s happening. She is simply outstanding. The sign of a great actor is being in character when you think no one is looking. She does it perfectly.
I posted the last photo because I thought it was utterly ridiculous. Yes, it’s a horrible joke, but I had to do it.
Into The Woods

The Carlisle players will be performing Into The Woods on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Walker Auditorium in the Marshall Fine Arts building (everything is named at a school that is not supported by the government, because someone was kind enough to donate money to pay for it).
It’s 12:08 a.m. and yes I am still working (don’t pay any attention to the time on the blog because I can’t figure out how to make it show the correct time). Actually, I am watching the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Seattle Mariners baseball game on MLB.TV on part of my 24-inch Mac screen while working on the remainder. Have I mentioned I am a baseball fan? I watched the St. Louis Cardinals game while I was sorting the play photos and the Cardinals won 5-2 over the Mets. They (Mets) weren’t really amazing tonight. Go Cardinals.
Anyway, I only saw the first act of the play tonight and will go back for Thursday night’s dress rehearsal to see the second and third acts. It’s a great play and you are really missing a fun evening if you don’t go see the performance on Friday or Saturday.
If you like theater, this is really a must see it (I spell it theater because I am an American. The British spell it theatre. I love the British folks, but I will go with my country. Afterall, I am a Devil Dog, hard charging, Marine, OoohRaahhh).
If you want to find out more about the play you can see my previous post.
