Carlisle Fencing

p13145441Today was the first time I have ever photographed fencing. Carlisle held a fencing tournament for their first time also.

I have to say it’s one of those sports I think most people would like to try. It just looks like fun.

The first photo was taken with an Olympus E-3 at ISO 3200, F4 and 7mm. This is one of those times when live view with a fold out tilt screen comes in really handy. I used the Zuiko 7-14mm lens (14-28mm in 35mm terms) and pulled the screen out, tilted it down, held the camera over my head and framed the shot on the screen.

The second photo was shot with the Nikon D700 with a 20mm lens at F2.8 at ISO 3200. The third and fourth photos were with the D700 and an 85mm lens at 2.8 and ISO 3200. The final photo was with a Canon Mark IIN at ISO 3200 at F2.2 with a 135mm lens.
