Litchfield Beach

These are more photos from Litchfield Beach. I shot these with the Olympus E-3 or E-510.  I did use something other than an iPhone. The first photo is a sunrise storm. All I can say about the last photo is that I hate spiders.

I covered the Smith River Sports Complex opening yesterday for the Harvest Foundation. It’s located in Henry County, Va. and is an awesome facility. Here’s some of what I saw.

Litchfield Beach – iPhone Photos

with one comment

If you have been visiting the blog or follow me on Twitter, you are aware I have been at Litchfield Beach for the past two weeks. We just came home today.

Mattie, AJ and I love Litchfield. Mattie and I spent two weeks reading, sleeping and eating. That’s pretty much it besides sitting on the beach or jumping into the pool.

I read five books this year. The books were Magnificent Desolation by Buzz Aldrin, The Best Game Ever by Mark Bowden, Dog On It by Spencer Quinn, Common Sense by Glenn Beck, and Storm Chaser by Jim Reed. OK I know Storm Chaser is mostly photographs, but I am counting it. I also started Rocket Men by Craig Nelson, but haven’t finished it.

Several years ago, I started using our summer vacation as a personal photo project by photographing at Litchfield Beach. Each year, I try to take a new piece of photographic gear to try out and to do something a little different.

This year, I wanted to get the new Olympus E-P1 to use. It’s a digital camera that takes interchangeable lens, but is really small, does not have a mirror in it and no viewfinder. In fact, it’s smaller than my Leica film camera. It would have been perfect. Alas, it wasn’t to be because they are still really hard to get because it is so new.

I took my regular battery of Olympus digital SLR’s and a couple of Konica film bodies. What did I end of using most of the time? My iPhone. The iPhone became my new photographic tool for this trip.

I downloaded several iPhone apps to help with the process including CameraBag, PhotoBox, Genius, iFlashReady and CameraKit. I used the apps to do a little post processing on the photos right on the iPhone. The following several posts include some of my favorites from the trip. All of the photos were shot and processed with the iPhone.
